She might be putting the fixed tire back and wondering if she should wash the spare tire before placing it back into the car.

yep good point.

With such a difference in diameter for the spare wheel, wouldn’t the ESP go wild until you put on a normal wheel again?

I was wondering how it doesn;t destroy the differentials

sadly I could see that being a call. One of the Boston radio stations goes thru the week;s police call logs for a town out west of Boston. There are some really pathetic calls.

More importantly, the donut needs to be turned around. For safety.

I’d say the biggest problem is the normal tire seems perfectly fine.

Found it! She’s on the phone instead of doing whatever she needed to do with the tire.
(I’m just going to assume that she heard a pucnture and the subsequent leak and got the spare out before it went flat, and that the jack is on the jacking point out of shot... Cause if she knows to get the spare out before the tire goes completely flat, she has some idea what she’s doing.)

This would also work with a base level 320i. Do they even come with spare tires any more? I know Hyundai sells a “spare tire kit”. lol.

Problem is, she’s on the phone rather than getting on with changing that tire. My wife changed a tire about 8 months pregnant in the middle of summer. Nice that it was a full-sized spare, but that did make it harder to get out of the trunk - that’s the only part she let someone help her with. Another side note / PSA: THAT is why you torque lug nuts properly, so your 8-mo. pregnant wife can remove them by herself without a 36" breaker bar.

The tire shown in the picture is not only a larger diameter than the spare, it’s also not flat.

the tire on the car isnt even flat ?

The front tire is flat and since she knows the font tires are what provide stopping power and turning power she wants to put the spare on the back. She can’t figure out how to do that since she only has one jack but it’s actually fairly simple:
Jack the front, remove the front wheel, put on the spare.
Jack the back, remove a good wheel, put the flat on that hub.
Jack the front again and switch the spare and the good wheel.
Now go back to the rear and switch the flat with the spare: ALL DONE!
